1980 Japan Commercial Photo - Yoyogi Stadium

18 March 2017

Do you know the website of camera manuals from Japan? In the year 1997 when I was a student at Academy of Art University I was looking at an advertisement or photo from Newtype magazine or a camera instruction manual. The photo was from the style of the 1980s of a young Japanese woman smiling standing next to a bicycle with the background of an ultra-modern building that looks futuristic. The building reminded me of Yoyogi stadium. I am not sure if that was the building. The image was photographed on a sunny day with a telephoto lens. The image made me sense it was a city from the future. How was that possible in the aesthetic composition of the image? I have been looking for the image from the Internet and from the Newtype magazines that my brother bought. I have not found the image. Do you know the photographer or the image?

Here are images of architecture of Japan that reminded me of the photo. Is it possible that a time-slip or the moment from the photograph is from a parallel universe. That is the feeling I sensed when I looked at the image from the magazine or camera manual in the year 1997. I have been inspired to find the photo.
